Johnny is a senior product design strategist with over 15 years' experience designing websites, SaaS platforms and enterprise digital products.

His expertise spans UX strategy, UI design, service design, and design systems — delivering complete end-to-end product experiences. He has worked with global brands such as Shell, BT, indeed, and enterprise platforms, helping leaders embed user-centred thinking and deliver smart, scalable design at speed.

Why I started The Treasury

After 15 years inside agencies and in-house teams, I kept seeing the same pattern. Great briefs. Talented people. But the work getting diluted. Too many layers. Too much account management. Senior people in the pitch, junior people on the project.

The clients I admired most didn't need a team of twenty. They needed one experienced person who understood their business, cared about the outcome, and could be trusted to just get it right. That person was rarely the one doing the work.

So I built what I always wished existed. A senior-led studio where the person you hire is the person who designs. Where strategy and craft aren't separate services — they happen in the same room, with the same person, from day one.

Do you work with early-stage startups?

Yes — some of our most rewarding work is with early-stage teams shaping their product for the first time. Whether you have a rough concept or an early MVP, we can help you define the experience, design the product, and build a foundation that scales with your business.

Can we bring you on full-time after working together?

We're an independent studio, so a traditional employment arrangement isn't what we offer. But our subscription model is designed to give you the closest thing — a senior designer who is always available, embedded in your product, and aligned with your goals on a flexible ongoing basis.

What is your day rate?

Our rates depend on the engagement type and scope. For project-based work, we discuss day rates during an initial consultation. Our subscription model offers a more predictable fixed monthly investment. Book a free call and we'll walk you through what makes sense for your situation.

How quickly can you start?

Our typical start time is 1–2 weeks from contract sign-off, depending on current capacity. If you have an urgent timeline, mention it when you book your consultation — we'll always be honest about availability upfront.

Do you work alongside existing in-house design teams?

Absolutely. We collaborate with in-house teams regularly — whether that's leading a specific initiative, providing senior oversight, filling a capacity gap, or introducing a design system that brings more consistency to the team's work.

Are you based in Dubai only, or do you work internationally?

We're based in Dubai but work with teams across the Middle East, UK and Europe. Almost all our engagements are remote-first, with regular video calls and async collaboration built in. If you need in-person workshops or on-site embedded work, we can discuss that during your consultation.

What tools do you use?

Figma is our primary design tool for everything from early wireframes to high-fidelity UI and design systems. We use Notion for documentation, Linear or Jira for task tracking, and Loom for async design walkthroughs. We're flexible and can adapt to your existing stack where needed.
